 Under Paulette Charles, long time former Head Mistress of David Rose School - and 'mother' to many of her students up to now - Sign Language became the official mode of communication for the deaf, displacing the oral method. That transition was in keeping with what happened in many parts of the world at that time. We are looking for any kind of information or materials on the history of sign language and on the history of deaf people in Guyana. Thank you for your cooperation.
